Emily in Paris - Life Lovers Magazine

Emily Cooper, an American professional in the marketing industry receives a promotion that requires her to relocate to Paris and become part of the Savoir team.

The American girl who knows everything and is good at anything returns for a third season with her world in chaos and bright color outfits.

Unlike some of the negative comments about the new season, I would say the new season definitely surprised me and here are some of the reasons why.

Everything Was Not So Easy for Emily

As we all know, the main character is always the one who knows everything the most, the one who always comes up with the best idea and the one who gets whatever they want with almost zero effort. Who do you think that could be? Of course, Emily! This is how exactly the season begins.

Emily must make an important decision which will affect her career. She needs to decide whether to stay in Paris and work with Sylvie or to go back to Chicago with Madeline.

What did Emily do?

She has the amazing idea to try and work for both companies, which on the face of it, seems impossible! I don’t want to spoil for the people who still haven't watched the season, but I would just say that it didn't go as planned.

Main Character?

The biggest surprise that made so many people happy. One of the best surprises about the new season is that it didn’t focus all it’s attention on Emily’s life! It introduced sub-plots with other characters within the show, giving them their own story.

Generally speaking, if someone's name is the title of the show, it’s likely that everything will be about them. This was the case with Emily in the previous two seasons but now, the season brings focus to the highs and lows of Mindy’s experiences too.. Surprisingly, in the third season, Emily Cooper didn’t feel like she is the main character anymore, as not only was Mindy’s story told more openly, but that of other supporting characters too, making Cooper “the friend”.

Many people might disagree with the decision, but personally, I think, that the producers hit the jackpot with their choice.

The supporting characters now have personalities outside of Emily’s influence, and Emily was no longer the centre of the world. The new season allows us to get to know the other characters as well and to deep into their feelings and the way they think.

This season was definitely Mindy’s time to shine. The fashion icon and amiable but direct nanny and aspiring singer has long been a favorite of the audience, and for good reason. The talented singer with great personality surprises everyone with her loyalty and pure heart. Unlike other characters who got involved in more drama than usual, Mindy convinced Emily not to get involved in Gabriel’s relationship, as Emily catches Camille cheating on Gabriel… oopps, more spoilers.

Do they speak English all the time?

In the previous two seasons, you can barely hear a French conversation. How is this possible since everyone lives in Paris? Many people were not happy by the fact the producers hadn’t added more conversations in French.

However, in season three, Sylvie and her group communicate in French when they first convene as Agency Grateau. When Emily or other English-speaking clients are present, the office turns to English as needed. Nonetheless, when a conversation is taking place between French speakers, they typically employ their native language.

The Ending!

As I am trying so hard not to spoil much, the only thing I will just say is ‘’wow’’! I did not expect this ending and I already can’t wait for the new season.

In conclusion, I really enjoyed the third season and I am beyond excited to see what else will happen in Emily and her friends’ lives.

Even if you aren’t sure about the show, I can guarantee that it’s worth trying and you might just end up falling in love with it.

If you want to watch something which is easy to follow with a little bit of drama, then Emily in Paris is just for you!
