As a self-confessed lover of travel and all things related it’s little wonder the idea of living on a yacht and sailing the world appealed to me. I wasn’t a sailor when I watched the documentary, which changed my life. It was the story of Laura Dekker, the youngest girl to have ever sailed solo around the world. As the credits rolled, the seed had been planted. What was about to begin was an adventure of a lifetime and at that stage, we didn’t even know it.
